As a technology enthusiast, I’m trying to keep myself updated with new developments, even if some of them are on prototype-level. And while I find some of these developments exciting and useful, others are creeping me out.
So in case you’ve missed it, watch this TED talks with Doug Roble, a visual effects researcher. He is developing technology that creates hyper-realistic digital versions of humans, exploring the implications of this technology — both for good and bad.
It makes me wonder how long it is until we got this on the market. And it scares me. Soon we will have no idea with whom we’ll be talking to if it is a real-real person or a digital one. Paying attention, though, might be of help.
Reality is all about details.
